Indulge Private Chefs: iPhone Marketplace App

Indulge Private Chefs is live on the App Store: a native iPhone marketplace where clients book, chefs deliver, and the business keeps control of quality. Scoped, built, and shipped with the OpsPal team in a couple of months.

The problem

Indulge vetted every chef by hand and arranged every event over text and email. Growing meant adding chefs and clients without losing the curation that made the brand worth paying for, and revenue was capped by founder hours. Off-the-shelf booking tools treat a marketplace like a calendar; this business needed to stay in control of who serves its clients and what gets promised.

What we built

A native iPhone app that serves all three sides of the business:

  • Clients get a trusted way to find and book a private chef and settle the whole engagement in the app.
  • Chefs get a professional storefront, a steady source of engagements, and reliable payment.
  • The business keeps its quality bar and its margin on every booking, with the operational load moved from the founders’ inbox into the product.

A curated marketplace is a revenue engine, not a directory. Capacity now grows by adding vetted chefs, not founder hours. The same pattern fits any business whose value is curating a supply side for a demand side: home services, practitioner networks, event vendors, tutoring, concierge care.

How it was run

I led scope and sequencing; the OpsPal team built and shipped it. Before writing code we modeled what the platform would cost to run at 100, 1,000, and 10,000 users, so the owners knew the economics before they committed. The build was fixed-fee, with anything outside the agreed scope handled as a defined next build rather than scope creep. Security, payment handling, and architecture are discussed with prospective clients under NDA, not published.

Where it stands

Live on the App Store as of September 2026, published under OpsPal LLC for Bespoke Private Chefs Inc. Kickoff to a shipped, reviewed app took a couple of months.

The app is one piece of the Indulge revenue ecosystem alongside the marketing site and lead capture, the chef roster, and the operator console. Next is the marketing system that feeds it, so inquiries from the website, referrals, and chef applications land in one pipeline.
